Our World-Class Tuition Assistance Program

For Hy-Vee Employees and Their Families

At Hy-Vee, we believe our helpful smiles – our people – are our most important asset. We are committed to creating a strong future by investing in our helpful smiles. We’ve created a tuition assistance program exclusively for Hy-Vee employees and that families that includes:

  • Up to $10,500 per year for select full-time and regular-time employees who are pursuing a Hy-Vee approved degree of study.*
  • Up to $3,500 per year for all employees, regardless of the degree studied.
  • Up to $2,500 per year for immediate family members of employees, regardless of the degree studied.

*To qualify for up to $10,500 per year in Enhanced Tuition Assistance, you must be a full-time or regular-time employee and complete and submit an Enhanced Tuition Assistance application to Hy-Vee. Enhanced Tuition Assistance is offered to help advance your career with Hy-Vee, and is limited to these degree majors.

To qualify for the $3,500 per year employee Tuition Assistance or the $2,500 family member Tuition Assistance, you need not complete a tuition assistance application and there is no restriction on which degree you pursue. Your next step is to inquire with Bellevue University.

In order to ensure you have funding to cover your entire degree program, the amount of tuition assistance you can access each academic term is limited. It's always a good idea to check our tuition assistance policies to assure the degree you're interested in is covered by our new Tuition Assistance Program. You can download Hy-Vee's updated Tuition Assistance Program guidelines here.

PLEASE NOTE: These generous tuition assistance amounts are available annually, which means each year you are enrolled at Bellevue University as a full-time, degree-seeking student.

Bellevue University Selected as Our University Partner for This Extraordinary Program

Bellevue University's leadership in serving adult learners made them a natural choice for this tuition assistance program. They understand the needs and priorities that adults have when going back to school. And they add many benefits to this program, including:

  • Payment Deferment
Bellevue University has agreed to let you defer payment to them until after they receive your tuition assistance. That means less for you to come up with out of your own pocket.
  • Save Money by Transferring Credits Without Charge
If you've already taken some college classes, you shouldn't have to repeat them. Bellevue University is a leader in evaluating credits you already have so you can transfer them into your degree program. And they don't charge our employees a transfer fee!

The best way to find out how many credits you already have that can transfer into your degree is to talk to a Bellevue University Enrollment Counselor. Your Enrollment Counselor can also suggest other ways of earning college credit for work you've already done.
  • Other Types of Financial Aid
    • Federal Financial Aid
Bellevue University participates in all major federal and state grant and loan programs to help you pay for your direct education costs, such as tuition, books, and supplies. To apply for federal financial aid, complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online, annually. The Bellevue University school code is 002538. If you are using this tuition assistance program to pursue a bachelor's degree, you must complete a FAFSA.
    • Veterans Education Benefits
